This newly cleared space, wrapped around by an in-and-out driveway, was the perfect blank canvas for a new planting scheme. A new pathway leads from the garden gate through an area of lawn and flower beds to the house. Plants soften the hard landscaping and the mix of shrubs, perennials, and specimen trees guarantee a colourful scheme all year round. As the ground drops on the approach to the house, the choice of plants was crucial to provide flowering interest at eye level where the wall is at its highest, and low spreading plants flop over the wall to soften the edges. Curved Beech hedges create a structural framework within the lawn, and traditional paving materials (crazy paving & gravel) were chosen to tie in with the style of the house. Garden lights illuminate the path & its central focal point.
