I enjoy designing country gardens as I get to see some amazing properties and locations! Not only do I need to take the style of the house into account (whether that’s old or new) but very often there are many external elements which will affect the design of an outside space. A garden needs to complement, not detract from, a stunning view. Windy sites, sloping ground, difficult soil conditions and local wildlife may all play a part in what can be achieved. But that’s a challenge I love! Here is just a small selection of images of some of the country gardens I’ve had the pleasure of designing.
