Contemporary courtyard garden, Surrey

The clean uncluttered layout of this enclosed garden compliments the modern house extension. Yorkstone paving has been used in strips to provide a large dining area with built-in seating, and lighting for evenings. The timber retaining walls add height and allow for plants to spill over the edges and soften the hard landscaping.

New development, Hampshire

This small space provided the perfect blank canvas for a romantic cottage garden. Trellis panels divide the garden and will soon be covered in climbers. Arches and openings provide vistas with antique busts & statues as focal points throughout.

Rural cottage, Herefordshire

The simple layout and block planting in this garden compliment the minimalist interior of the black & white cottage. Situated next to a forest on the Welsh border, hard landscaping materials (slate and timber) have been kept to a minimum, and reflect the location of the garden. A turf seat cut into the slope, and timber posts (lit at night) add drama.

Town garden, Hampshire

This long narrow garden, once just a strip of lawn, has been divided into numerous areas, each with their own character. The garden now incorporates two small lawns, winding paths, a natural pond and a deck with pergola.

A sunken stone terrace with retaining walls at seat level, and lush planting all around, provides the perfect setting for entertaining. The garden reflects the traditional style of the house and its surroundings, and maximises the potential of the available space.

City garden, London

With French windows opening directly onto this basement level garden, the simple, structured, contemporary design links with the house interior and extends the living space into the garden. Lit at night, the garden provides a focal point from the house at all times.

Courtyard garden, London

This tiny garden has been transformed from a bare patch of crazy paving and weeds, to a private and calm space in the heart of the city. The planting is simple, restrained and low-maintenance, but provides interest all year round.

Country Estate, Surrey

This large 19th century house in Surrey has recently been renovated with some contemporary additions. A number of areas around the house required landscaping to reflect the mix of new and old, without detracting from the stunning views and existing planting around the estate. Work here included paving design, large areas of new planting, irrigation, lighting and the commission of a water sculpture.
