garden design process

The first stage in the garden design process is an initial consultation meeting for me to gain a clear understanding of the complexities of the site, your likes and dislikes and your requirements for the proposed garden. An estimate will be sent to you covering the cost of a site survey and an outline design plan.

After measuring the site, a scale drawing is produced detailing boundaries, buildings, hard landscaping, ground levels, and existing planting. I then draw up initial sketches for your approval, followed by a finished outline design plan, showing all hard landscaping and materials, structures, trees, hedges and specimen planting. Design plans can be hand-drawn or generated using CAD (computer-aided design) packages, depending on requirements.
