The first stage in the garden design process is an initial consultation meeting for us to gain a clear understanding of the complexities of the site, your likes and dislikes and your requirements for the proposed garden. An estimate will be sent to you covering the cost of a site survey and an outline design plan.
After measuring the site, a scale survey drawing is produced. Initial design ideas are then drawn up for approval, followed by a finished outline design plan, showing all hard landscaping, structures, trees, and structural planting. Design plans can be hand-drawn or generated using CAD (computer-aided design) packages, depending on requirements.
Once the outline design plan has been completed, we offer our clients a range of services to aid in the successful completion of their projects. These may include the following:
- detailed documentation and specifications for tendering purposes
- sourcing reliable and experienced contractors to build the garden
- provision of specialist expertise and contractors for bespoke features such as water projects, irrigation and lighting
- project management & execution of schemes as single projects, or staged over a longer time period
- planting plans
- sourcing of plants from top-quality nurseries, and organisation and execution of planting schemes
We also offer a consultancy service to clients who may not require a complete design package but are looking for advice and expertise to improve existing schemes. Consultation services typically include the following:
- a single visit, assessment and advice on how to improve an existing layout or planting scheme
- maintenance notes on new or existing planting
- hands-on work directly with clients, demonstrating and teaching how to develop and maintain garden schemes
- Ongoing consultancy on a needs basis over extended periods to develop schemes within budget and time constraints
